The Future Thinker. Wagner - Komitas

What do the concepts "nation," "myth," "national school of composition," "music drama," and "total work of art" entail? What is the connection between Richard Wagner and Komitas Vardapet? What historical prerequisites and trends existed in the 19th and 20th centuries, and what responses did they have within the scope of the aforementioned composers' work?

 

These questions and their possible answers constitute the material for the lecture to be held at the Komitas Museum-Institute on July 30 at 16:00.

The lecture will conclude with performances by the "Geghard" Vocal Ensemble (Artistic Director: Mher Navoyan, Conductor: Anahit Papayan).
