How Did the Press of the Time Portray Komitas Vardapet?

On January 20 at 4:00 PM, join us at the Komitas Museum-Institute for a discussion of the second volume of "Press Chronicle: Press Coverage of Komitas Vardapet" by French-Armenian musicologist Armine Grigoryan.

Armine Grigoryan has compiled a comprehensive collection of original contemporary sources relating to Komitas Vardapet under the general title "Press Chronicle." The materials are organized into separate volumes, each dedicated to a particular period of his life and work.

The volume to be presented focuses on Komitas Vardapet's activities in Constantinople between 1912 and 1913. Drawing on a wealth of contemporary press reports, it vividly reconstructs the cultural and social environment in which Komitas lived and worked.
