Department of Armenian acred and Folk Music

The Department of Armenian Sacred and Folk Singing at the Komitas Museum-Institute organizes and carries out a wide range of concert activities aimed at preserving, studying, and promoting the Armenian musical heritage.

The Department’s “Geghard” Vocal Ensemble presents solo concerts and collaborates with orchestras, choirs, soloists, and various cultural institutions, implementing joint concert projects both in Armenia and abroad.

The Department’s concert activities feature outstanding examples of Armenian sacred, folk, and classical music, continuing the musicological and performing traditions of Komitas.
