Museum Collection Registration and Preservation Department

The primary mission of the Collections Department of the Komitas Museum-Institute SNCO is to collect, enrich, register, preserve, and make accessible archival materials, ensuring their long-term preservation and availability for scholarly research.

 

The Department's activities include the scholarly description, classification, documentation, cataloguing, digitization, and integration of various types of materials into electronic databases, as well as ensuring the integrity and proper preservation of museum objects and collections in accordance with established museum standards and regulations.

 

The Department collaborates closely with the Museum's Research and Exhibition Departments by providing primary source materials and relevant information, while also participating in the implementation of research projects, exhibitions, and publications.

 

The work of the Collections Department contributes to the preservation, scholarly study, and promotion of materials related to Komitas Vardapet, making them accessible to both specialists and the general public.
