Musicologist, PhD in Art Studies,
Associate Professor at the Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas, Director of the Komitas Museum-Institute
Lusine Sahakyan completed postgraduate studies in Musicology in 2000 and defended a dissertation, titled "Komitas Studies in Armenian Musicology," in 2007. Teaching experience includes the Kasakh Children's Music School in the Nairi district (1988–1990) and the R. Melikyan Music College in Yerevan (1991–1992). Sahakyan served as Assistant at the Department of Music History at the Conservatory (1993), and subsequently as Lecturer at the same department. From September 2014 to 2025, Sahakyan served as Head of the Department of Music History at the Yerevan State Conservatory. Scholarly papers have been presented in the USA (Los Angeles), France (Paris), Germany (Berlin), Lithuania (Vilnius), Latvia (Riga), Russia (Moscow), and Austria (Vienna). The author of three monographs and over fifty scientific articles, Sahakyan has publications in the international scientific databases Scopus and Web of Science. Since 2025, Sahakyan has been appointed Director of the Komitas Museum-Institute.
