Summer School

Museum education is an important and indispensable part of non-formal learning. It provides children and young people with the opportunity to learn not only from textbooks but also through direct engagement with cultural heritage, art, and history. A museum becomes a creative environment where knowledge is acquired through experience, exploration, play, and collaborative activities.
The “Komitasakan” Summer School of the Komitas Museum-Institute was created with this vision in mind, offering children an engaging and inspiring way to discover the life and legacy of Komitas Vardapet, as well as Armenian musical culture. Throughout the program, participants develop their musical knowledge, explore the characteristics and possibilities of various musical instruments, and discover the image of Komitas through literature, sculpture, and other branches of art.
Creative workshops, singing and dancing activities, and team projects form an essential part of the summer school experience. These activities encourage communication, cooperation, creativity, and self-expression while combining education with enjoyment. The program creates a unique environment where every participant can learn, explore, create, and build new friendships.
No prior musical education or special training is required to participate in the “Komitasakan” Summer School. The program is open to all curious children who wish to enrich their summer with new knowledge, memorable experiences, and inspiring musical discoveries.
