Permanent exhibition

Komitas’s life and work, as well as his legacy as a folklorist, musicologist, and composer, are presented in the museum’s permanent exhibition, structured across eight halls.

The First Hall “Chronology”
presents Komitas’s biography and a concise timeline of his life, alongside a parallel chronology of European musical culture.
The Second Hall “Komitas and His Contemporaries”
maps all the routes traveled by Komitas and displays photographs of individuals who embodied the scientific thought and spiritual values of the era and who played an important role at different stages of the artist’s life.
The Third Hall “Komitas’s Thoughts”
eatures Komitas’s theoretical works, personal belongings, and certificates.
The Fourth Hall “Komitas and his Ethnographic Activities”
depicts the environment in which musical folklore was formed, as well as the process of its documentation through paintings and other visual materials
The Fifth Hall “Komitas the Composer”
presents Komitas’s creative persona. On display are manuscripts and published examples of his works, the project of the opera Anoush, and other materials.
The Sixth Hall “Komitas and Sacred Music”
presents Komitas’s works in the sacred genre, along with pages from his studies devoted to Armenian Church music.
The Seventh Hall “Komitas’s Performances”
presents Komitas’s activity as a promoter of Armenian music through concert-lectures he delivered in Tiflis, Paris, Lausanne, Constantinople, Alexandria, and elsewhere. The hall displays posters, programs, and tickets from individual concerts.
The Eighth Hall “After Komitas”
presents representations of Komitas’s image in painting and sculpture.
